Oscar Smide is a new salesperson at Tilka since February 9. Here we thought we would introduce him a little more.
Who is Oscar and what did you do before you started at Tilka?
He is 45 years old, lives in Färjestaden on Öland, and is married to Louise. He previously worked as a field salesperson for instrument fittings, valves, and regulators in stainless steel within the process industry and laboratories with high demands on cleanliness and surface finish according to specifications.
What are your experiences so far as a salesperson at Tilka?
He has carried out a few joint customer visits with field salespeople who have worked at Tilka for a long time in order to start getting to know our customers and their range. He has also started booking and conducting customer visits within the southern Sweden district and getting familiar with their operations.
Another important part is, of course, getting to know colleagues better and learning more about how Tilka's processes and range look.
How would you describe Tilka as a workplace?
It is a workplace with a short way to decisions and a good atmosphere, while there are many satisfied customers. There are good opportunities to learn a lot about different parts of technical sales of fasteners and manufacturing of drawing-based components for many different industries.
What do you think about Tilka's future development and what do you think are Tilka's biggest challenges and opportunities?
Thanks to Tilka being able to maintain its identity within the Bufab group and develop its offering on a larger scale regarding warehouse management and logistics than before, there are great opportunities to reach new customers that we have not had previously.
The challenges lie in carrying out the information about the added value that Tilka can provide both to existing customers and to new customers.
